- Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF)
Dear all,
At the International AIDS Society meeting in Vienna this summer, there will be a series of presentations on the epidemiology of HIV among MSM in low and middle income countries. This non-abstract driven session will include talks from Robert Carr, Andy Seale, Shiv Khan, Joel Nana, and Zoryan Kis, among others. This session represents an excellent opportunity to highlight the disproportionate burden of HIV among MSM in these settings, discussing drivers of disease and giving some examples of prevention successes focused on Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The focus is on this region given the geography of the conference locale, but we are also looking for examples of prevention successes in other regions as well.
To this end, I am putting a call out to the global community of service providers for gay men and other MSM to send me examples of programs that have worked to decrease risk practices, improve access to care, and better human rights contexts.
If you could send this to me at sbaral@jhsph.edu in the next 2 weeks, I would be greatly appreciative and we will work to highlight these case examples during this session.
In solidarity,
Stefan
