Less love for male sex workers

New book about male sex workers in Hong Kong

There are, apparently, many things we don't know about male prostitutes in Hong Kong.

There are about 1,000 of them in the city, says a male sex workers concern group - yes, there is one - called Midnight Blue. Many of them come from the mainland, and just like us they have dreams and concerns.

Eight of them share their experiences in a book, Less Love, which was launched yesterday at the Book Fair. One of them said he became a prostitute to pay for his university studies and support his parents.

Their main worry is when they're forced to seek help from police.

"Even though they are doing something illegal, they also need to be treated fairly," the group said.
